My relationship to Royal Hobart Hospital

/ Why I’m here today

I came to wait for my wife who will be serving as a Registered Nurse later in November 2019 and is visiting the Ward

What I love about the RHH Community

/ or hope for it

At 11:18 to 11:25, 5 November 2019, I witnessed an older woman listing to the right seated across from me. Within a couple minutes there were about 10 staff attending her and she was whisked away. What efficiency and care. All the fuss and negative press in the media about the RHH is nonsense. From 1975 to 1978 I served as a US Army Medic and EMT, then an Army SAR helicopter Pilot. I have some idea. I worked at the US Army 97th General Hospital, Surgical side (ugly trauma) of the Emergency Department, Frankfurt, Germany, 1976-78, before going to Army flight training. It was a 1000 bed hospital, one of the largest, yet our ER would get packed. RHH is doing a great job.

Something I’m personally hoping for right now

Win the lotto mega super-duper draw, so I can retire in style. Seriously, though, I would hope the RHH gets fully funded by State government. No more staffing cuts. No more "efficiency-seeking" causing staff to be worked to death.
