My relationship to Royal Hobart Hospital
/ Why I’m here today
I feel that I have virtually lived at the hospital as a visitor for the past 5 years. First as my elderly parents reached their end of life, my Dad actually died here, and more recently as a support carer for an old friend who has terminal cancer. Twelve years ago I spent six weeks at the hospital after I sustained a serious injury to my throat. That was a difficult time but it was also a time of renewal and hope as it marked a significant milestone in my life. Given its power as a healing place and its part in my life's journey, I do feel a certain affection for the "Royal". It is full of my memories both good and bad but always life affirming.
